About the Role:
Jefferies is excited to have just opened up a new search for an Investment Banking Vice President to join our newly formed team in Toronto. After establishing our Toronto Investment Banking practice in 2023, the group has seen a tremendous amount of success and is positioned for continued growth in 2025. New joiners will have the opportunity to partner with some of the region's top bankers in transactions across multiple industries.
Primary Responsibilities:
As a Vice President in the Toronto M&A team, you will rapidly assume significant responsibilities related to pitching as well as executing advisory and capital markets transactions for a broad group of private and public clients. These responsibilities will include the following:
- Lead the execution of M&A advisory mandates, and support clients throughout the process
- Participate in the delivery of client presentations
- Supervise and direct junior bankers in the preparation of pitch books and live deal materials, including offering memoranda, confidential information memoranda, management presentations, lender presentations and prospectuses
- Perform financial valuation, discounted cash flow, pro forma merger, precedent transaction, and comparable companies analyses
- Analyze detailed corporate and financial information, as well as conduct due diligence
- Develop client relationships through deal execution, pitching, and primary/support coverage
These responsibilities afford direct and active interaction with clients (CEOs, CFOs, etc.) where Vice Presidents are expected to attend and lead client meetings and contribute to building and maintaining client relationships. You will work on several projects simultaneously with teams of professionals, both within the group and across the firm, including Managing Directors and group Heads, collaborating to develop and execute solutions to meet client needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university AND 6+ years of Investment Banking experience in a product or sector coverage group
- MBA degree (or equivalent degree) from an accredited college or university AND 2-4+ years of Investment Banking experience
- Strong technical, written and verbal communication skills
- A critical thinker who can quickly evaluate and analyze companies and financial information
- Ability to manage a variety of transactions and projects simultaneously
The salary for this role is 315,000 CAD.
